I saw it on an infomercial and thought it was very cool, but did not buy. Then I saw that Bed, Bath, and Beyond had them for MUCH less than the infomercial, especially with shipping and handling not launching the final cost even higher, so I decided to get one. I have a chicken cooking in it right now with peas on the top rack in little bowls (thought I'd keep it simple for my first time out). It can cook pork chops and hamburger from frozen and can also bake cakes, muffins, etc., supposedly along with meat without flavor transfer. It comes with a springform cake pan. The other "perks" that were advertised with it were quick cooking times (e.g. 34 minutes whole chicken--from thawed state--versus 1.5 hours in the oven), easy clean up, free springform cake pan, low fat cooking, multiple foods done in one pan. Now...the test. I am trying it out to see if it really can live up to all this. What I've noticed so far is that the food needs tending fairly frequently compared to oven roasting, but about the same as stove top pan frying. But my chicken is cooking really, really quickly. I am hoping to spend less time in the kitchen. This GFCF cooking means a lot of home baked meals, and I am really hoping for a significant reduction in time spent at the stove. Will report later with performance details.

If anyone comes up with GFCF bread/cake or anything that would be kid friendly with the Turbo Cooker, PLEASe let me know. I was watching the infomercial and real tempted to order, but my kitchen is so full of gadgets I went for the Thunder Stick Pro instead. ;-) I can't wait to see if I can do whip cream with soy milk. ;-) Anyway, the Turbo Cooker looked real neat in being able to cook multiple layers on the stove top in shorter periods of time. Please keep us posted on success. Mother's Day is coming and I'm at the point that I'm not offended to get Kitchen stuff for those occassions. The problem is storage for all this stuff. Joyce

Okay, the peas were done in the few minutes it took me to write the description. Now, I have three other little bowls in there with sliced potatoes, margarine, salt, pepper, and soy parmesan. I'll tell you how that turns out.
