Status of the Log House Chips I posted about
I heard back from the Log House company about the cherry chips that I found. The woman had contacted the person in charge of the plant that they get the chips from. He confirmed the they are gluten-free, but stated that despite the fact that casein is not an ingredient, there is a STRONG RISK OF CONTAMINATION on the line from their other casein containing ingredients. He stated that he would definately not use the chips with a child who was very sensitive at all to casein. That sounds pretty definitive to me- if the plant manager tells me that there's a strong chance they are cross-contaminated I would tend to believe him! Put this one on the no-no list guys!
