corn free baking powder, vanilla and powdered sugar
For those who might not know....I am so proud of myself. I just have to pass this on...I experimented with my little $10 coffee bean grinder and made corn free powdered sugar from regular sugar! It only takes a few seconds. I was thinking I would have to buy an $$ food processor! Anyway, it's a good alternative to buying by the one ppound bag for $8 or whatever. I tried the archives, but couldn't find what I wanted... What vanilla is corn free? I planned to buy vanilla beans, but how do you use them? Does anyone know where to buy vanilla powder? I thought I saw someone said you can make corn free baking powder. I am currently buying Featherweight brand, but curious to know if I could make it. I guess I went in reverse order from my subject. Oh well. Brenda Lee, how are things going? Janelle
I believe many glycerin-, not alcohol-based vanillas, are corn free, but you might want to check. My HFS sells it in bulk; it is expensive, but it is the best tasting vanilla I've had. I also think someone said Trader Joes carries a glycerin-based vanilla.
