coconut and palm oil
Forgive me if I'm wrong here, but aren't coconut and palm oils considered by medical experts to be the most heart-clogging oils out there? Just curious. I do remember reading something about trying to avoid them and I see lots of listbuddies using this in recipes. Please advise. Lisa in San Diego
The thing is Lisa Rose, that these exotic oils are not intended for everyday frequent use. But, to normalize life, something is needed in the restrictive diets. I guess it is a choice one has to make. For some the strict avoidance of corn, soy, and dairy means that a short season of using exotic oils might help the child outgrown the "allergy" as might a serious bit of immune system rebuilding. For others, this is a lifelong choice and they will have to look later on about whether they wish to continue with the use of exotic oils and risk a coronary incident. Now please don't take that to mean one should avoid exotic oils all together. There are other factors involved in heart disease and one needs to take a close look at the other factors before being worried or concerned over the use of exotic oils. I great deal depends on the child's age, his activity level and so on. Just as it does with an adult. Does that help?
